SECO Energy has launched a systemwide AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) project in 2023 that will take three to four years to deploy meters and other infrastructure systemwide. The AMI meter will provide detailed usage data and allow members to engage in other voluntary energy-saving tools to help them save money on their bills. Members who choose to opt out of having an advanced meter will incur a monthly fee of $40 for SECO to dispatch a technician to read the meter and conduct an onsite inspection. The AMI opt-out fee is stated in our Rate Tariff approved by the Florida Public Service Commission.

Accounts that are scheduled for the meter upgrade are eligible to opt-out of the AMI meter exchange 30 days before the scheduled meter exchange date. Insert your address in the search field. If the meter exchange is scheduled at your location in the next 30 days, your address will appear inside one of the colored polygons. Complete the web form to determine your eligibility to opt-out of an AMI meter while agreeing to pay $40 per month per meter for a manual meter reading and onsite inspection.
