2019 Scholarship Program – Entry Period Is Closed

In 2019, up to twelve high school seniors who live in a home served by SECO Energy have the opportunity to be awarded a $3,000 scholarship to further their education. For over 20 years, SECO Energy has enabled over 250 young scholars to begin their dreams of a college education by awarding over $500,000 in scholarships.  We are proud to renew our commitment to the support of youth and continuing education in our community.


2019 Scholarship awardees will be announced in late April.


SECO’s 2018 class of young scholars are bright and ambitious and will be a credit to their communities and chosen professions.

Are You Eligible?

If your high school senior can answer yes to ALL four questions below, they are eligible to apply:

Are you eligible for SECO scholarship - live in a SECO house

Do you live in a home served by SECO Energy?

Are you eligible for SECO scholarship - High school senior

Are you currently a high school senior who will graduate by the end of the current school year?

Are you eligible for SECO scholarship - college acceptance letter

Do you have an acceptance letter from an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school located in Florida?

Are you eligible for SECO scholarship -

Do you plan to be a enrolled as a full-time college student?

An independent panel of educators from SECO’s service territory evaluates all applicants and selects each year’s winners. Scholarship selections are based on past and present achievements in school, community service, financial need, scholastic record and an interest in pursuing a career in the energy industry.
