Documents required
- Complete the online forms including the Interconnection Agreement for Member-Owned RGS
- Provide proof of insurance in accordance with Interconnection Agreement for Member-Owned RGS page 3, Article 8 (not applicable if 10kW or less)
- Enclose (1) copy of your one-line diagram
Other requirements
- Lockable alternating current disconnect; clearly labeled, within five feet of the meter can, mounted separately from the meter socket and inverter
- Member is responsible for entire energy consumption including situations where meter configurations are incorrectly installed
Important information
- SECO Energy does not guarantee the projected value of electricity produced by these systems. Changes in rates, rate structures, or net-metering policy could affect this value and current practices will not be grandfathered.

System Transfer Checklist
I confirm my name, address, phone number and email address are correct. SECO Energy will email a DocuSign link to the email address I provided. My signature is required for permission to connect my renewable generation system (RGS) to SECO’s electric facilities.
I understand that entering into an Interconnection Agreement with SECO Energy is required to receive credit for my solar system’s excess solar production.
SECO Energy is a not-for-profit electric cooperative that does not subsidize solar production. Our financial structure and rate tariffs differ from those of investor-owned, profit-generating utilities. Members who interconnect to SECO’s system with individually owned systems that produce more power than their homes consume (excess) are in essence small-scale wholesale power generators. That said, SECO compensates those members for excess generation at the same rate that we pay our wholesale power provider, Seminole Electric, Inc. The rate is filed with and approved by the PSC.
SECO Energy’s current Rate Tariff and net-metering policy are subject to change.
I understand that by interconnecting to SECO’s electric system I become a small-scale provider. As such, I am credited the same rate as SECO’s wholesale provider for excess solar production.

"Net" is the difference between energy purchased from SECO and excess energy produced by the solar system. Excess is defined as energy produced by the solar system above and beyond of what is consumed by the premises. Members whose systems produce more energy than their homes consume generate power back into SECO’s distribution system. Thus, they are credited by SECO for excess energy at our current purchased power rate.
I have read and understand the definition of “net.” I understand that SECO credits for excess energy not consumed by my premises at our current purchased power rate.

SECO Energy strongly encourages you to review its net-metering policy and sample bill for an interconnected member. Members with interconnected solar systems will receive a monthly SECO bill for their utility-supplied power consumed.
I have reviewed the sample bill for an interconnected solar system.

During a utility outage, members with interconnected solar panel systems will experience an outage as well. Because of the interconnected design and for employee safety, inverters do not allow solar functionality during a utility outage.
I understand that I will not have power during a utility outage that affects my service address.

The Cooperative can disconnect the member generation at any time. This may result from but is not limited to one of the following occurrences:
- Emergency situation or Cooperative required system maintenance
- Hazardous conditions existing on the utility system due to the operation of the member’s generation system
- Adverse electrical effects, such as power quality problems, on the electrical equipment of the Cooperative’s other members as determined by the Cooperative
- Failure by the member to adhere to the terms of the Interconnection Agreement, such as failure to maintain the required insurance coverage or lack of county/municipal code approval.
- Failure by the member to pay sums due to the Cooperative for electric service or any other reason that violates the Terms & Conditions or Bylaws
I understand that SECO Energy does not guarantee the projected value of electricity produced by my interconnected system. Changes in rates, rate structures, or net-metering policy could affect this value and current practices will not be grandfathered.
