SECO Energy has grown from a small rural utility founded as Sumter Electric Cooperative, Inc. in 1938 to a regional Central Florida not-for-profit cooperative that serves over 240,000 homes and businesses in seven counties. Every day, almost 500,000 consumers rely on SECO to provide reliable, safe, and affordable electric service. Our growth makes SECO Energy the third-largest co-op in Florida and the seventh largest in the nation out of more than 900 electric cooperatives.
