Simple Ways to Lower Your Energy Bill:

  • Set thermostats to 78° or higher in summer and 68° or lower in winter
  • Keep the thermostat fan set to Auto
  • Ensure attic insulation meets R-30 to R-38 standards
  • Check or replace HVAC filters monthly and service the system annually
  • Set water heater temperature to 120° or lower
  • Avoid placing refrigerators in unconditioned spaces
  • Plant trees on the south and west sides of your home for shade
  • Use the air-dry setting on dishwashers
  • Consider solar screens or reflective window film
  • Replace frequently used bulbs with LEDs
