SECO Energy Invites Community to Help Fill Santa’s Sleigh for Local Children

SECO Energy invites the community to help bring Christmas joy to local children through the cooperative’s annual Toys for Tots donation drive. Now through December 4, 2026, the drive gives community members an opportunity to help SECO Energy fill Santa’s sleigh with new, unused toys for children whose families may need extra support during the holidays.

SECO Energy’s annual toy drive is part of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, a nationally recognized initiative that has distributed more than 700 million toys since 1947. In early December, retired Marines and other Toys for Tots volunteers will collect the toys donated and distribute them to families in time for Christmas.

What makes SECO Energy’s annual tradition especially meaningful is its local impact. Donated toys stay within the local community, bringing holiday joy to children right here at home.  

“SECO Energy was built on the belief that people can accomplish great things when they work together,” said Curtis Wynn, Chief Executive Officer of SECO Energy. “Nearly 90 years ago, neighbors joined forces to bring electricity to rural Central Florida, and that same spirit of cooperation continues to shape who we are today.”

“Even a single toy placed beneath the tree can create a moment of excitement, a cherished memory, and a reminder to a child that someone cares,” said Kathy Judkins, Vice President of Communications, Community and Member Experience for SECO Energy. “It's a wonderful way to show local families that their neighbors care.”

“Whether you donate one toy or several, your generosity can help put a smile on a child's face on Christmas morning,” Wynn added. “We encourage everyone to join us in filling Santa’s sleigh and making the holidays brighter right here in Central Florida.”

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any of SECO Energy’s five Member Service Centers in Eustis, Groveland, Inverness, Ocala, or Sumterville. Toys can also be purchased through SECO Energy’s Toys for Tots Amazon Wishlist and shipped directly to SECO Energy Headquarters. Donations will be accepted through December 4, 2026.
