SECO Energy is proud to announce that the SECO Energy Foundation was recently named Corporate Partner of the Year at the Community Foundation of Ocala/Marion County Inspire Gala. The event was held on May 2, bringing together nonprofit leaders and notable community members serving Marion County.
SECO Energy hosted students from the Villages Charter High School on April 21st for the inaugural Engineering Industry Tour. Students arrived at the SECO Energy headquarters for a substation tour led by SECO technicians and hands on presentations from SECO Engineers.
SECO Energy has been named a 2026 Tree Line USA Utility by the Arbor Day Foundation. Tree Line USA recognizes public and private utilities that demonstrate best practices in utility arboriculture while ensuring reliable and safe service. This is SECO Energy’s 19th year earning the prestigious designation.
The future is bright for SECO Energy’s 2026 scholarship awardees. SECO’s Board of Trustees approved $48,000 in scholarships to high school seniors graduating this year who reside in homes served by SECO. These 12 outstanding local students exemplify academic excellence and leadership within their communities.
At its March meeting, the SECO Energy Board of Trustees elected its 2026 Officers. District 3 Trustee, Gerald Anderson, was re-elected to serve as Board President; District 9 Trustee, Morgan Hatfield, was re-elected to serve as Board Vice President; and District 5 Trustee, Shannon Wright, was elected to serve her first term as the Board Secretary/Treasurer.
